NRG is looking for versatile Heavy Equipment Operators

​

Heavy Equipment Operators will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment which may include:
excavators (all sizes), loaders, skid steer, roller, etc. Operators will use heavy equipment to perform a variety of tasks which may include: fine grading and finishing, landscaping, sloping and banking, back-filling, ditching, excavation, rough grading, sub-grade excavating, trenching, material handling, slope grooming and demolition. Scope of work is mainly in the residential sector in the Penticton and surrounding area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings, plans and diagrams to perform work

  • Inspect and review projects during construction, monitoring conformance with plans, specifications, and other codes and regulations

  • Monitor the progress of construction activities, ensuring schedule and quality standards are met

  • Take initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the team

  • Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize risk of injury or property damage

  • Responsible for conducting pre-operational checks on equipment and accurately complete daily operating and safety records

  • Knowledge of safety rules, instructions and policies, workplace safety

  • Follow equipment maintenance schedule. Advise if repair is required

  • Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning

  • Willing and able to labour if needed. Perform other related tasks as assigned

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong verbal & listening skills

  • Time management skills a must

  • Physically fit and able to lift 50lbs

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Ability to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines

  • Must be honest, respectful, flexible and have professional work ethics

  • Must be able to work without supervision and take direction from supervisor
